The D1708 comes with built-in stereo speakers and also features dual headphone jacks so 2 people can watch or listen to a disc simultaneously, on the bus, in the car, or wherever. The D1708 features a 7-inch TFT active-matrix widescreen display with aspect ratio control so you can choose 16:9 for widescreen movies, standard 4:3, or a switchable option. It plays DVD-Video, CD, and MP3- and JPEG-formatted discs for a variety of options--even controls for how you'd like your JPEG digital photos to transition. The included rechargeable NiMH (nickel-metal hydride) battery offers up to 3 hours battery life so you can watch even the longest movies and not worry about losing power. The battery takes about 5 hours to fully charge, but unlike its lithium-ion counterparts, you don't have to fully charge and discharge the battery between uses to preserve its life.
Composite-video and stereo analog-audio inputs and outputs let you hook up additional AV gear for viewing through the D1708, including camcorders and gaming consoles. All audio and video inputs and outputs are of the minijack .125-inch size, so compatible adapter cables are required (a combination stereo analog audio and composite-video cable is supplied).
The D1708 also comes with an AC/DC power adapter and a DC vehicle cigarette-lighter power adapter.
